Issue #3 | May 2026

On May 11, I set out on my cross-country road trip. Although I intended to really take my time and go at my own pace, it took a week or so to align that mentality with my actions. I’m used to traveling for work, or camping with a group to complete a route within a certain time frame, but that’s not what this trip was. On many of the nights, I was able to slow down and just hang out with myself. I got a glimpse of how it felt to enjoy my own company, free of distractions. I camped at some seriously spectacular parks like Killarney, Sleeping Giant, and Honeymoon Lake. At the time of writing this, I’ve done fifteen IRL streams from various places in Canada. I’m feeling proud, accomplished, and ready to plant my butt somewhere for longer than a night or two. Above is a screenshot from my Sunset by the Beach stream ft. my new beaver plushie.

The most iconic IRL broadcast was my Baddy in the Badlands one, in Drumheller, Alberta. Drumheller is the dinosaur capital of the world! It’s home to otherworldly landscapes and 70-million-year-old fossil beds. Travel Alberta’s website says it feels like something out of a dream, and I completely agree. After stream, I spent an hour taking the most beautiful photos, like the one above!

Another legendary stream was from the Great Sandhills in Saskatchewan, one of Canada’s largest active dune formations! Of course we did the sandwalk from Dune, and a perfect cartwheel, as you can clearly see.

I made a point to visit Manitoba’s Antique Automobile Museum again. The first time we were here in June 2025, we got a wonderful tour from staff member and antique car expert, Barry. This time, Barry wasn’t around, but we were given the opportunity to stream from the museum before it was open to the public for the season! During the stream, people were asking for a way to donate. I called and found out that you can support the museum by donating to the Manitoba Historical Society. Consider sending $10 CAD over if you enjoyed the stream, as they mostly get gifts and items, and not donations.

Another highlight was my stream from Lake Louise! A world-famous, glacier-fed lake, surrounded by snow-capped mountains. This picture does not do it justice. The water is stunning shades of blue that change depending on time of day and viewing angle. The broadcast is worth checking out so you can see my accidental Fisherman’s Friend cosplay.

I also streamed from Canada’s most famous provincial parks: Jasper and Banff, both in Alberta. One notable highlight from the Banff stream is this elk that casually made an appearance! Click the picture above to experience the exact moment on stream.

We can’t forget the world’s largest dinosaur stream either. This is Tyra, queen of the dinosaur world! Look at how massive just her one foot is (yes, chat played several sniffing Tangias over it. Thanks, guys! Never change).

We also accomplished our very first successful driving stream! I took chat on a 232km drive through the Canadian Rockies, then for another 370km because of how fun the stream was! I just didn’t want it to end! There was some instability at the beginning, and a few disconnects when we went under bridges or down hills, but for the most part, it was fantastic quality and the feedback I received from the community was great. We peaked at 386 viewers during that stream, which is very high!

This is how most of my evenings were when camping. Yes, that’s a space heater that I plugged in (there are electrical hookups for RVs at many of the parks) instead of starting a campfire. Sue me. Now, who wants to be the one to feed double-headed, legally distinct Garfield aka Gorgorfieldfield? Taking volunteers.

Secrets saw lots of silly and fantastic selfies this month! I set up a tripod and went crazy in some of the more scenic spots. The story for the collage above was, “There’s a fork in the road and you decide to take a left. You walk the dirt path for a few minutes. To your surprise, at the end of the path, you are greeted by a woman in a little cave with a foot. She tells you she’s been waiting here for 3 days.” What would your next move be if she offered you the foot?!

I stopped at a lot of cool restaurants and cafes on my trip, and this avocado toast was a highlight. It had mint and dill on it. I couldn’t believe my taste buds.

Drumheller aka the dinosaur capital of the world had SO many epic dinosaur displays around. This T-Rex bursting out of the wall of this Starbucks was my favourite. I have officially used up my Starbucks gift card that was bought through my Throne! Thank you, waywardmessiah, for funding my most recent coffee needs. The gift card got used at many Canadian Starbucks and was greatly appreciated.

The coolest thing to shout out in this issue is the way the community came together for my driving stream. It was a memorable experience where many of you joined in and used TTS to communicate with me. Despite it being a stream completely outside of my element, you managed to make it feel normal (and by normal, I mean unhinged).

The community even started a meme by pretending to all be JC_LC when sending text to speech messages. Many of you used bits to answer my questions, and kept everyone engaged and feeling welcome by announcing their arrival in chat.

Thank you, mrbiggs91, for this really thoughtful compilation video which shows at least one representation of every place I streamed from. The visual media even matches the lyrics.

We had a really wholesome and special encounter during one of the streams with bunnies and their momma! I saw what I thought were wild rabbits but they turned out to be domesticated bunnies that were enjoying some sunshine. With permission, I showed the bunnies off, and the owner even made an account and joined my streams shortly after! She also helped navigate me to a cool rock shop which we explored on stream. Welcome, bunny_momma8! Thank you for your kindness.

I made it to BC and am currently apartment hunting! In the meantime, I will continue IRL streaming when I can. Thank you for your continued support. I have a goal set up for June on my Ko-fi if you’d like to contribute to it. It is currently 8% funded! 🥳

I’ve mentioned a few times this month that I’d love to stream the sunrise and do a badge drop during it! Being able to experience a sunrise together as a community is such a cool thing to say we did. Look out for it. In between apartment hunting, I’ll also be scoping out some beautiful places to watch it from.
