My cat, Lyra, has adjusted to being in a new place. In fact, she’s so comfortable, that she doesn’t flinch when I try to reclaim my chair. Dumper incoming, Lyra, you better move. 😤
We played DREGS (#ad), a friend slop comedy-horror in space, a couple times with the community on stream. See my hand gestures to get an idea of the interesting conversations that took place during. Still confused? It was about docking. 😃👍
We started AND finished (the finishing is important 😌) Shift at Midnight. A game where you work at a sketchy convenience store to earn money for your pet goose’s medical bills. Our main job? Simple. Decide who is a human and who is a doppelganger. If found to be a doppelganger, we get to POP POP them in the face. 😃👍 My kind of game! Highly recommend. Oh, and if you position yourself in a certain way during one scene, you can make it look like you’re drinking gasoline. 10/10 game.
Perhaps the most iconic thing that happened was this strike I got in bowling, during my IRL collab stream with FuzhPuzy. I wish I could say I’m a god tier bowler, but I ended up with a 49, which I’m told is “not the worst thing to happen to someone”.
Did you catch my IRL stream from Toronto? I took a very short trip for a baby shower, and ended up finding time to stream from the city. Chat joined me as I wandered around and tried to see how much sidewalk gum I could fit in my mouth.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention our newest stream pal, Robie the Robot Banker! Robie is a battery-operated electronic piggy bank that was made popular by RadioShack in the 1980s. I am so thankful to finally have Robie back in my life. I had him as a child and lost him at some point. Huge shoutout to community member, soraxxo, for sending it after I expressed a longing for one on stream!
The most exciting highlight of the past several weeks was my Canada vs. Sweden collab with Hekimae! The 6.5 hour showdown consisted of three segments: a blend of Charades & Pictionary, a Food Fest show-and-tell, and finally, Game Guessing! And who could forget the two hours of tech issues at the start! 🙃👍 We both showcased our respective countries in our own wacky way. Heki even sang for us (this wasn’t the only time she sang to us during the event🙂↕️). Thank you so much to everyone who watched and joined in on the fun!

Lyra having an existential crisis in my shower.
Look at this motherforkin’ burrito. It was stuffed with soy curls, marinated in a blend of delicious spices, rice, peppers, caramelized onions, pickled jalapeños, and vegan cheese. I want another right now even as I'm writing this. FUUUUUUUUU.

When my father passed away, one of the things I had to handle in the estate process were all of his rewards cards. You know, the wide variety of points you can collect for things like gas and groceries. Dealing with that on someone’s behalf after they pass is an absolute pain in the ass. Like why on Earth does this random ass grocery store need a copy of my dad’s death certificate? Just release the $30 worth of points to my grieving family, Chad.
Anyway, one of the cards that was the hardest to deal finally ended up releasing the points to me. Then, earlier this month, when I flew back to Toronto for a friend’s baby shower, I found myself in the neighbourhood that I was raised in. It was the day of the shower, and I felt a migraine coming on. I made my way to the local drug store, the one that was a big part of my childhood and young adulthood. It was the one my dad would get me medication from when I was sick. Medication and a plushie to make me feel better, always from this one place.
When I went to go pay for my pain meds, I noticed a sign that they accept this particular rewards card that was passed on from my dad. The person at the counter told me it’d be pointless to scan it because you can’t collect points on medicine anyway, but I insisted. Upon scanning it, I found I could pay for the medicine using the points my dad had spent years collecting.
It didn’t hit me until I got back on the plane the next day when I realized that, in a way, my dad had bought medicine for me when I needed it most. He was continuing to show up for me, even though he’s not here with me anymore.
As per usual, the community these past few weeks was a mix of wholesome and unhinged.

We both had Badge Drops in our respective channels, and I know many of you had both streams open on your monitors. If this isn’t one of the most iconic displays of communities coming together, I don’t know what is!
Conventions! I’ll be travelling to PAX West in early September, so expect more IRL streams. PAX West is an annual multi-day gaming convention held in Seattle. It’s a celebration of games, gaming culture, and technology. I’m also looking forward to hitting up some Seattle cafes, like this one!
